OneSoil has introduced AI Agronomist — a built-in assistant in the OneSoil Platform designed to solve the “last mile” of precision agriculture: turning complex and fragmented digital signals into timely, practical decisions for specific fields. The idea is simple: instead of dozens of data layers, the farmer gets a clear answer and a concrete action plan.
Modern farms, especially in Europe, the United States, and Australia, already work with several digital tools at once — from satellite platforms and weather apps to FMS solutions, machine data sources, and agronomic records. But these systems are fragmented, often require manual updates, and still demand expert interpretation. OneSoil argues that the next step in precision farming is not to create new volumes of data, but to help farmers understand the data they already have.
AI Agronomist works precisely as an interpretation layer on top of this data stack. It combines satellite signals, weather, crop context, and field history, then delivers daily summaries and recommendations in a conversational interface. A farmer can ask what changed in the field over the last 48 hours, and the assistant will proactively highlight potential risks — excess moisture, pest pressure, or weak zones — and suggest what to check next and what steps to take.
Technologically, the product is based on OneSoil’s satellite expertise accumulated since 2017. Under the hood is a combination of large language models, vision-language AI, and the company’s own algorithms for field boundary detection, crop identification, and productivity zone analysis. According to OneSoil CPO and COO Katya Heyster, years of work in satellite data processing were brought into the new AI agent.
AI Agronomist is not meant to replace existing farm management systems. OneSoil positions it as a consultative, interpretive layer that complements platforms such as Climate FieldView and xarvio: those help plan and record operations, while the new assistant explains what a detected anomaly means and how to respond.
OneSoil CEO Stepan Zulynskyi describes the tool’s value this way: “Instead of 20 dashboards, farmers get one good answer.” The launch followed a €1 million funding round from existing investors — Almaz Capital, PortfoLion, Bulba Ventures, and technology entrepreneur Yuri Melnichek.
The core user is a small or mid-sized farmer without an in-house agronomist. In countries with limited access to expertise, such as Kenya, Tanzania, or India, AI Agronomist could make agronomic advice more accessible. In developed markets facing labor shortages and rising input costs, automated decision support can help maintain yields and reduce unnecessary spending.
At scale, OneSoil already reaches 1.16 million users worldwide, including around 140,000 active farmers managing more than 70 million hectares — roughly 4% of the world’s arable land. The company also works with corporate clients including Corteva, BASF, Cargill, and Bayer. According to user feedback, OneSoil tools have helped save between $10 and $85 per hectare depending on the crop; the company expects AI recommendations to strengthen that economic benefit further.
In short, AI Agronomist is intended to remove the “noise” from agricultural data and give farmers one clear direction for action in each field — less time spent acting as an analyst, more time on practical decisions in the field.
